Ah, Richie & Margot. They had the sort of friendship and love that is baffling. I mean, for the life of me and I can watch the movie continuously (as I have before) and never fully find myself connecting to Margot as a character. Pieces of her are understandable, but her treatment of Richie, who is no doubt my favorite character, just mystified me. “I think we’re just gonna to have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that, Richie”. Poor poor Richie, too full of love and compassion and nowhere to go with it.
